By unanimous 8-0 vote, the Chicago Police Board found that officer Raoul Mosqueda did not violate department policies in the 2011 fatal shooting of 27-year-old Darius Pinex, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The city’s former police watchdog agency — the Independent Police Review Authority — had previously recommended that Mosqueda be fired for lying about the shooting

Mosqueda has been suspended without pay since last August butut now that he’s been cleared, he’ll return to duty and receive back pay.
