Authorities say one of the people found dead in a Lower Moreland Township, Pa., home on Tuesday after suffering wounds from a chainsaw was slain; the other committed suicide.

Montgomery County Coroner Walter Hofman identified the couple on Wednesday afternoon as 43-year-old Nicole Peppelman and 48-year-old Christopher Peppelman, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The recently divorced couple was found dead Tuesday afternoon. Police said one of their young sons reported finding his parents unresponsive with lacerations from a chainsaw.

Nicole Peppelman died from gaping sharp force injuries to her abdomen, Hofman said. Stab wounds and choking also contributed to her death, which was ruled a homicide. The coroner said Christopher Peppelman died from gaping sharp force injuries to his abdomen and right thigh. His death was ruled a suicide.
