A Miami-Dade, Fla., police officer has been relieved of duty, after a local television station aired video showing her hauling mattresses on top of her marked patrol unit.

Officer Sandra Lyles, a 32-year veteran, was six days from retirement. The department has stripped Lyles of her take-home vehicle, badge, and gun.

She was captured on video leaving the Big Lots at N.W. 57th Avenue and the Palmetto Expressway with two mattresses strapped to the top of her cruiser. Officer Lyles, who was off-duty at the time of the incident, has a history of disciplinary actions relating to off-duty conduct, reports Local 10.
