City administrators shut down the Mount Sterling (Ohio) Police Department, after an officer used a TASER on a 9-year-old boy earlier this month.

Embattled Chief Mike McCoy, the only full-time officer, had been suspended and several part-time officers were no longer working on Friday. McCoy's decision not to tell village administrators about the incident prompted his suspension, officials told the Columbus Dispatch.

The village also declined to release details about the incident, which apparently began when the boy refused to go to school.
