Video: Missouri Man Fires AK at Officers In Car Chase

The footage from the patrol car of Officer Trenton Herr shows the erratic, high-speed driving of Cody Wilcoxson, 31, who fired an AK-47 at pursuing officers while driving at one point.

St. Robert (Mo.) Police released 20 minutes of intense cruiser-cam footage from the 23-mile pursuit of a man who attempted to force his way onto the Fort Leonard Wood Army base.

The footage from the patrol car of Officer Trenton Herr shows the erratic, high-speed driving of Cody Willcoxson, 31, who led several agencies on the pursuit.

At 2:45 of the clip, Willcoxson begins firing an AK-47 at the officer while being pursued on Interstate 44. At 14:25, Willcoxson exits off I-44 into the city of Rolla.

At 18:47, Willcoxson arrives on the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus, exits the car and enters McNutt Hall. He was captured later that afternoon south of Rolla.

Authorities believe Willcoxson may have been drawn to the base because his younger brother is an Army Airborne Ranger, reports The Oklahoman.
