A rookie officer from the Piqua (Ohio) Police Department used a Taser on a 16-year-old who had stolen a $2 tobacco canister from a convenience store, the Piqua Daily Call reports.

Adam Kimpel, who had been on the force for less than a year, responded to the incident. He traced the 16-year-old to a house, where he used the stun gun on the boy, who sat near a loaded shotgun.
