Safecops to Hold Contraband Interdiction Seminars

Safecops.com, a New Jersey based law enforcement consulting company, will be conducting two contraband interdiction seminars in the month of January. “Safe Contraband Interdiction” is designed to give all officers, no matter their level of experience, the skills and confidence to detect, contact, and intercept criminals moving illegal goods through their jurisdictions. The course will establish a tactically safe and legally defensible system of conducting motor vehicle stops and pedestrian contacts that will result in contraband detection.

“A Defense Attorney’s Nightmare- Report Writing and Courtroom Testimony for the Street Drug Arrest” recognizes that the goal in the war on drugs is not to make arrests but to get convictions. Getting a conviction is a three-tiered process. The officer’s actions on the street must be proper, those actions must be properly articulated in the arrest report narrative and the facts must be presented at trial in a credible and factual manner. If any phase is neglected, a “guilty” verdict is unlikely.

Both classes will be held toward the end of September in Wayne, N.J.
