Chevy Upgrades Powertrain on 2012 Impala Police
The new engine and six-speed automatic transmission produces 302 hp and is rated to achieve a fuel economy of 17 mpg city and 27 mpg highway — a 3 mpg improvement over previous Impala models. The 2012 Impala can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds, according to the automaker.

Michigan State Police Will Test Five New-Vehicle Introductions
Overall, 14 patrol cars, the pursuit-rated Chevy Tahoe and four motorcycles will be evaluated for acceleration, top speed, and brake testing on Sept. 18 at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Mich.

Chevrolet Offers Full Line of Police Vehicles
When the 2011 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV) begins production later this year, Chevrolet will be the only brand to offer a full line of police vehicles, including the front-wheel-drive Impala, the Tahoe PPV, the industry's only SUV designed for police, including high-speed emergency vehicle operations, and the V-8 powered, rear-wheel-drive Caprice PPV.

Chevrolet's 2010 Impala 9C1 is offered as an affordable front-wheel-drive patrol car. The vehicle is powered by a 3.9-liter V6 engine with wide open throttle air-conditioning cut off that's rated with an MPG of 17 in the city and 24 on the highway.
