Ark. Cop Fatally Struck by Drugged Driver
A Conway (Ark.) Police officer succumbed to injuries he sustained when an intoxicated driver struck him at an accident scene, according to the agency. Officer William McGary, 26, died Friday afternoon after receiving treatment at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

Report: More Californians Driving Drugged Than Drunk
A survey of drivers by the California Office of Traffic Safety found that 14% tested positive for impairing drugs (both illegal and prescription), while 7.3% tested positive for alcohol. Of the drugs, marijuana was the most prevalent at 7.4% of drivers.

While drunk driving fatalities are on the decline, a California agency this week warned that the number of deadly crashes involving drugged motorists in the state has been steadily increasing over at least four years.
