Philly Officer Shot, Suspect Killed in Hammer and Pickaxe Attack
The man then struck the 35-year-old officer in the head with either the hammer or pickaxe, knocking him to the ground, police said. The man then allegedly sat on top of the fallen officer and repeatedly struck him with one or both of the weapons.

Waterbury officers were taking a suspect in a stolen vehicle investigation into custody when they noticed two SUVs revving their engines and driving at a high speed towards the officers, police said. The SUVs, which later turned out to be stolen, crashed into several police cars.
