California Adds Blue Alert for 2011
The state's Emergency Alert System, much like the Amber Alert, would be activated as a Blue Alert if an officer is killed, injured or assaulted; a suspect poses an immediate danger to the public or law enforcement; a detailed description of a suspect's vehicle or license plate is available for broadcast; or further information would help accelerate apprehension.

Maryland Implements 'Blue Alert' for Crimes Against LE
The notification system will be called Blue Alert and will be similar to the Amber Alert system to identify missing children and Silver Alert to find missing seniors.
