The cameras will be installed within the dashboard, rather than the mounted style used by many law enforcement agencies. Police Director Garry McCarthy said the mounted cameras pose an injury risk to officers in the event of a motor-vehicle accident.

Massive Manhunt Launched After Shooting of N.J. Officer
Detailing the calamitous encounter, acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino today said several law enforcement agencies have formed a task force and launched a massive manhunt to find the people who shot Officer Gerald Veneziano. The officer remained hospitalized tonight in critical but stable condition at University Hospital in Newark.
