Trooper Hanns ran to the passenger side of the vehicle and used his extendable baton to break the window and set the driver free so he could be pulled to safety, shortly before the car exploded.

Michigan Officers Help Rescue 15 Students Trapped in House Fire

When officers arrived just after 1:20 a.m. only 5 of the students renting the home were outside. Officers say the other 10 students were trapped in the house. Police were able to get inside and help everyone get out safely.
