The usually bustling Albuquerque police academy looked like a ghost town for a time this week. Twelve of the 22 cadets were hit with respiratory infections. When tests of the 12 cadets came back two tested positive for the H1N1 virus.

Police Identify Bodies Found in New Mexico Desert
On Wednesday, police released the names of Cinnamon Elks and Julie Nieto. Nieto was the sixth victim found on the mesa near 118th and Dennis Chavez SW; Elks was the eighth. The Office of the Medical Investigator used dental and medical records to identify the women's remains.

Not because he was a problem citizen; Tony's behavior rarely generated any complaints. Instead, the Albuquerque (N.M.) Police Department often received calls from citizens who were worried about the friendly man's welfare.
