A Pasadena (Texas) Police officer used a seat-belt cutter to save a boy who had slipped a zip tie around his neck and tightened it. While being pulled over for a seat-belt violation on Nov. 5, the driver asked the officer to help her 5- or 6-year-old son.

Two Franklin County (Kan.) Sheriff's deputies rescued a man from a car that was stuck and sinking in a pond. Deputy Bentley used a baton to smash the driver's side window and, with the help of Deputy Jones, pull the man to safety.
