Washington Officer Earns 2017 Stop Stick Hit of the Year Honor
Effective and safe use of the Stop Stick Tire Deflation Device has earned Officer Joe Stark the 2017 Stop Stick "Hit King" award. An assault with a weapon call, attempt to elude, and harassment threat to kill, made this situation dangerous to law enforcement and the general public.

The Stop Stick Hit of the Year program recognizes the best annual deployment of Stop Stick in the United States. Sgt. Paul Ryan of the Monroe (WA) Police Department (left) nominated Officer Joe Stark (middle, formerly of the Monroe Police Department and now a member of the Bonney Lake Police Department in Washington) for Hit of the Month. Stark was then selected to receive the Stop Stick Hit of the Year Award for his effective and safe use of the tire deflation device in a uniquely dangerous situation.
