Fixed-Blade Knives for Duty
Many of the fixed blades built for law enforcement are designed for heavy-duty applications: cutting seat belts and harnesses, hacking through underbrush, breaking windows, prying open doors (not recommended), or they can even be used to puncture liquid containers. These uses will generally destroy any pocket knife you might carry.

SHOT Show 2011: Best of Show
This year, the law enforcement section of the show wound through both floors of the Sands Expo Center and into numerous ballrooms in the Venetian Hotel. Exhibitors along the law enforcement aisles were showing everything from machine guns to mannequins, ranging in size from vehicles to lights the size of a stick of Dentyne gum.

SHOT Show 2011: Glock Adds Gen4 G21 In .45 ACP
Glock will release two more Gen4 pistols in 2011, including the G21 .45 ACP and G34 9mm pistol that will arrive in the summer. Glock will also release a new beaver-tail back strap to help larger-handed officers avoid slide bite.

An Effective Weapon Maintenance Plan In 5 Steps
What I've learned over the years is that many officers will typically use way too much oil and solvent when cleaning their duty weapons. I've seen officers use lithium grease, brake cleaner and PB Blaster in their Glocks, but the main issues causing problems were from too much oil, or failure to remove all of the solvents.
