Tactical Robots Used In Japanese Nuclear Crisis
Models produced by iRobot — two iRobot 510 PackBot robots and two iRobot 710 Warrior robots — arrived in Japan on Friday. The two smaller robots can measure radiation levels close to the reactors and the two larger ones can pull hoses to spray water on the fuel rods.

S&W's 327 TRR8 Revolver
Smith & Wesson developed its eight-shot 327 TRR8, after a SWAT officer contacted the company to ask for a beefy revolver for the lead penetrator, who must carry a ballistic shield with one hand. The TRR8 gives operators eight rounds of .357 Mag in a package including a Scandium "N" frame, 5-inch barrel, and blackened cylinder. Rails and moon clips are included. Kel-Tec Incorporates SHOT Feedback Into KSG
Kel-Tec is incorporating feedback from users into its KSG, 14-round shotgun, including adjusting the trigger reset, adding a pump-lock switch, including a rail-mounted hand stop and including indicator holes in the mag tube.

The Claw Entry Tool

The JTC Claw is a hybrid, forcible entry tool weighing only 10 pounds with a handle made of 100% non-conductive materials. Rather that a simple breaching tool, the claw combines the operations of a Halogen, sledge hammer, pry bar, window rake, lock pick, E-Tool, door ram, and axe into one tool. The Claw is offered in tactical black and safety yellow.

SHOT Show 2011: Colt Debuts Modular LE901 Carbine
The rifle can be deployed in 7.62mm/.308 with either a 13- or 16-inch barrel. For closer quarters engagements at 5.56mm/.223, officers can swap out the upper receiver and, with an internal adapter that bolts to the upper, deploy the rifle with a 10.3-, 14.5- or 16-inch barrel.

SIG Sauer To Offer 556 Carbine In 7.62x39
The 7.62x39 was not developed for sniper work. Longer cartridges such as the Soviet 7.62x54 were developed for precision work and mimic our 30.06 and .308. The 7.62x39 is a relatively short cartridge case, but packs an effective punch.
