Officials Break Ground on New Park in Las Vegas Dedicated to Slain Officer
Named the Alyn Beck Memorial Park, it will feature two lighted grass ball fields, basketball courts, a playground and splash pad when it opens in about a year. A second park will be built in the near future in honor of Beck's partner, Officer Igor Soldo.

Officer Who Stopped School Shooting to be Honored at Tonight's Chicago Bears' Game
Mark Dallas, the Dixon, IL, police officer who shot and wounded a school shooting suspect at a high school in February, will serve as the team’s honorary captain for the game, and will attend the contest as a special guest of the team, the Bears confirmed Thursday.

On October 1, Golgart rushed to help the wounded, piling people into the back of his truck and driving them to the hospital. While doing so, he received a call from his daughter saying she had been shot. Like any father he wanted to go to her, but he decided to continue driving toward the hospital with the wounded.
