The sight of the wagon pulling into the hotel parking lot caused Bohanan's heart to sink. He hoped that the suspect would drive through the hotel lot and continue on. He didn't want to have to deal with a desperate murder suspect loose in the hotel.

Missouri Deputy Ambushed During Medical Call
Washington County (Mo.) Sheriff's Deputy Christopher Parsons, 31, was shot by the son of an intoxicated woman, as paramedics loaded her into an ambulance at about 2 a.m. Saturday.

The Board of Police Commissioners may hold an emergency meeting Wednesday to start the process of naming a new chief, with the goal being to have a new chief announced next month, said Richard Gray, president of the board.

St. Louis PD Assigns Officer to Animal Abuse Crimes
Officer Louis Naes, a nine-year veteran of the St. Louis Police Department, has become the department's first animal abuse investigator and a member of the new Animal Abuse Task Force. It includes the circuit attorney's office, mayor's office, the health department, and Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Mo. Agency Shifts From Holding Cells
The Columbia (Mo.) Police Department will soon begin taking more than half of suspects under arrest to the Boone County Jail instead of the police department. The move is in response to an August incident when former Officer Rob Sanders shoved an inmate in a holding cell.
