The newest digital camera from Fuji offers a range of capabilities any officer or investigator would find handy. The FinePix 6800 Zoom is a high-resolution digital camera with a 3.3-million-sensor Super CCD that can produce a 2832x2128 pixel image file. Although a “point and shoot” camera, the FinePix 6800 has features normally found on “professional” cameras. Up to 30 seconds of voice notes can be recorded for each image (an advantage when recording crime-scene photos) or up to 160 seconds of AVI video with sound can be recorded.
Designed by F.A. Porsche (yes, “that” Porsche), the FinePix 6800 is supplied with a PC-Sync cradle. Once plugged-in, the cradle enables the camera to be hooked to the internet for video conferencing, downloading images or charging the built-in battery pack.
If speed is important, the FinePix 6800 can take up to five high resolution images per second for one second. The “point and shoot” operation, 1/4 – 1/2000 shutter speed capability and 36-108mm zoom makes the FinePix 6800 Zoom versatile and user-friendly.
