Radio Host Continues Anti-Cop Program
In response to complaints from Chief Julian Fantino of the Toronto Police Department in Canada, the host of the local radio show “Bad Cop, No Donut!” will change his offensive e-mail address, but the show will continue to air anti-law enforcement sentiments.
In response to complaints from Chief Julian Fantino of the Toronto Police Department in Canada, the host of the local radio show “Bad Cop, No Donut!” will change his offensive e-mail address, but the show will continue to air anti-law enforcement sentiments.
Fantino called it a “hate-mongering” program and has tried to get it banned from the airwaves. “I’m disgusted that this kind of hate mongering would be directed at our police officers,” Fantino said.
Ron Anicich, 38, the show’s host and producer stands behind the program and its content. He says that although he doesn’t personally find the e-mail address ihatepigs@aol.com offensive, he understands that some people could. He has agreed to change the show’s e-mail address to ron@ckln.fm.
In Toronto, the show airs Thursday mornings on CKLN 88.1 FM, a Ryerson University campus radio station.
According to the show’s Website, “Bad Cop, No Donut!” is picked up by stations in Vancouver; Nelson, B.C.; Los Angeles; Pittsburgh; Washington, D.C.; Idaho; and New York.
