Detroit Police officer Joseph Weekley has been charged with causing the death of 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones, who was shot during a May 2010 raid.

Wayne County prosecutors charged Officer Weekley with involuntary manslaughter, as well as careless and reckless discharge of a firearm. The girl was inside a home that had been targeted as the location of Charles Jones, Aiyana's father, who was wanted on a murder charge.

Charles Jones was arrested today and faces charges of first-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm, felony firearm, habitual fourth offense and perjury at a court proceeding in the shooting of Je'Rean Blake, a teen killed two days before the raid.

In addition to Officer Weekley, charges of perjury and obstruction of justice have been filed against Allison Howard, 42, of Boston. Howard was a photographer with "The First 48," which had a crew following the Special Response Team.
