A Lancaster, Pa., man, currently behind bars, is facing charges after allegedly hatching a plot to ambush and kill three city police officers who arrested him last month, reports Lancaster Online.
Akeem Washington, 30, who has been in Lancaster County Prison since his arrest Dec. 28, solicited help from another inmate, authorities said.
According to police, Washington stated that when he got out of jail, he was going to place a fake call to lure the two officers to a scene where he planned to shoot them with an automatic rifle. Washington claimed that he had access to different types of weapons, including an AK-47 and an AR-15.
Police said Washington attempted to recruit a fellow inmate to anonymously make the phony call so he could shoot up the police car when the officers arrived.
Washington also stated he was going to shoot up the police station and that he wanted to follow the sergeant to his home, and shoot him there. Washington added that if the sergeant's family came outside, he would shoot them as well.
