Massachusetts Police Arrest Suspect in Dominican Republic Officer's Death

Massachusetts police say a man wanted for the death of a police officer in the Dominican Republic has been arrested.

Massachusetts police say a man wanted for the death of a police officer in the Dominican Republic has been arrested, reports the Associated Press.

Fifty-nine-year-old Ramon Aguasviva-Mejia, of Lawrence, was being held overnight at the Lowell, MA, police station Sunday on detainers from Interpol and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and on numerous local charges.

Police say he was spotted by detectives about 2 p.m. and fled in a vehicle when they approached. The detectives were able to stop his vehicle and take him into custody at gunpoint.
