An officer with the Hartsdale (AL) Police Department is being praised for taking quick action in saving the life of a young man who was suffering from a seizure.

According to CBS News, Mike Bullard's son Bryan suffered a seizure a decade ago but had not had a similar event since. Then, last week, Bryan suffered another seizure, leaving him with a severe head wound.

Officer Patrick Niles responded as he was just about to end his shift. Niles—who is also a certified EMT—provided life-saving care as other first responders arrived at the scene.

Bullard said in an interview with a local television station, "One of the things that got me, is he [Niles] just kept saying, 'Come on buddy, we’ve got you, buddy. Come, on we’ve got you.'
