The family of Stephon Clark—who was shot and killed by deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department in March—has reached a possible settlement with the City of Sacramento that would give $2.5 million dollars to Clark's children.

According to KCRA-TV, Clark's 2-year-old and 5-year-old sons will receive a net settlement of $893,112.94 each after the deduction of legal fees.

The wrongful death lawsuit filed earlier this year alleges that the deputies racially profiled Clark and used excessive force when they shot and killed him.

According to the proposed settlement, the court will appoint a trustee to oversee the funds.
