The Clackamas County (OR) Sheriff's Office is considering restricting its cooperation with the Portland Police Bureau.
Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts had asked city leaders to cover the legal expenses of any deputy who is involved in a use-of-force incident, but that request was denied.
Roberts wrote to his deputies, "I will not place our staff at unnecessary personal risk when acting under law and authority as a police officer."
According to Fox News, CCSO is not the only neighboring law enforcement agency pulling back from conducting police activities in the city of Portland due to deteriorating relationhips with political leaders in the City of Roses.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office partially cut ties with PPB earlier this year, and the Vancouver (OR) Police Department is also considering making changes.
