A Denver officer was wounded and a male suspect shot during a domestic violence call in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood Tuesday night. Denver police tweeted that the officer’s injury was not due to a gunshot.

When police arrived, officers observed the male suspect threatening the female victim with a gun. Police said the officers opened fire, hitting the suspect several times. The female victim, who had called 911, was not injured.

No information was released on the cause or extent of the officer's injury.
