During a hearing to determine whether or not to extend the appeal hearing of Mumia Abu-Jamal in the fatal 1981 shooting of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner, Maureen Faulkner—the officer's widow—rose to her feet to sternly address the judge.
Common Pleas Court Judge Leon Tucker had just extended the hearing for 30 days when the widow stood and said, "With all due respect, your honor, I have another 30 days that I have to go through this pain and suffering?"
Faulkner had flown from California, hoping her long ordeal would come to an end, according to Philly.com.
In a hallway after the hearing, Faulkner apologized for her outburst.
"My emotions got the best of me," she said. "I mean, when is this case going to end?"
The now 64-year-old Abu-Jamal is serving a life sentence.
