Deputy Davis was one of six law enforcement officers who were wounded in a shooting that resulted in the line-of-duty death of Florence Police Officer Terrence Carraway.

Deputy Davis' father Michael Davis told the television station, "At first, when we went in, the doctor said she probably gonna lose it. Lose her leg. Below the knee. And my heart, her mother heart, we said doctor do whatever you can to save her leg. And later on they went into surgery and they came out. And said yes, we’re going to be able to save her leg. It was touching. And God is working it out."
