Nebraska Officer Shot During Warrant Service in Stable Condition

Columbus (NE) Police Sergeant Brad Wangler, a 19-year veteran of the force, was shot while trying to serve an arrest warrant on a man identified as Jorje Robledo.

Columbus (NE) Police Sergeant Brad Wangler, a 19-year veteran of the force, was shot while trying to serve an arrest warrant on a man identified as Jorje Robledo.

Sergeant Wangler is reported to be in stable condition but will need additional surgery, according to KETV-TV.

The department posted a statement on Facebook that indicated the subject was armed with a handgun and a rifle during the gunfight.

A member of Robledo’s family said that they “feel very sorry for the officer and are praying for his recovery.”
