Tampa Officers Exchange Fire with Suspect on Bicycle

According to police, officers stopped a bicyclist around 1 a.m. near the corner of N Central and E Floribraska Avenues when the suspects fled and at least one of them fired shots at an officer who was pursuing them.

One suspect is in custody and Tampa police are searching for another early Wednesday after gunfire was exchanged during a traffic stop.

According to police, officers stopped a bicyclist around 1 a.m. near the corner of N Central and E Floribraska Avenues when the suspects fled and at least one of them fired shots at an officer who was pursuing them.

An officer who returned fire was not injured, police said, and it does not appear that any of the suspects were injured, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
