Civil Liberties Union Challenges NYPD's Stop-and-Frisk Database

The N.Y. Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit to stop the NYPD from collecting the names and addresses of subjects who are stopped and questioned but cleared of any wrongdoing, the New York Times reports.

The group asserts that state law forbids the names from being kept in cases where the arrests are thrown out or the case adjudicated favorably
