The VisiC Voyager from TriTech Software Systems is an Internet-based wireless software system for the public safety industry. Using a handheld personal data assistant (PDA) unit to handle the mechanics, this system allows field personnel to access critical information while away from their vehicles, mobile data terminals, radios or phones. Able to transmit data to other field personnel or dispatch centers, the VisiC Voyager uses Internet technology across a public or private wireless network. A field user can link to VisiCAD information, query justice and incident databases, enter information for APBs, hazardous materials, suspicious persons or any info that needs to get out, quick. Other features include the ability to review the status of an incident, check personnel rosters, send alphanumeric pages, enter incident report information and a wide cross-section of other "dispatch" type functions.
