“Making a difference in an indifferent world” is the theme of the 2006-07 Law Enforcement Summit, which will be held Oct. 3-6, 2006, at LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center near Asheville, N.C., and April 3-6, 2007, at LifeWay Glorieta Conference Center near Santa Fe, N.M.

Now in its fifth year, the Law Enforcement Summit was designed as a safe place where Christian officers can unwind with their colleagues, talk about the real issues they face, and learn practical ways they can make a difference personally and professionally.

"The Law Enforcement Summit was created to give officers and their spouses a safe place to spend time with God and with other Christian officers,” says Tim Eldred, coordinator of the event. “This summit is unique in that it is planned by law enforcement officers for officers.”

In addition to providing officers and spouses with time for contemplation and relaxation in a beautiful mountain retreat setting, the summit offers helpful information about the financial, professional, domestic, and spiritual aspects of life. Workshops will be led by law enforcement professionals from eight states with more than 260 combined years of service.

Eldred notes that this year’s session leaders were selected from last year’s attendees, and will include only law enforcement chaplains, officers, and their families.

The Eastern Regional Law Enforcement Summit will take place Oct. 3-6 in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina at LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center.

For the first time, a Western Regional Law Enforcement Summit has been added. It will take place April 3-6 and will be held at LifeWay Glorieta Conference Center in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico.
