Trapeze Networks introduced a new wireless infrastructure and in-car digital video system with Digital Ally for the Clarkston (Ga.) Police Department. The newly-deployed system's videos capture evidence, train officers, and provide a simplified way to transfer multiple video files securely.

The station's new Trapeze Networks wireless network transfers large video files quickly from the Digital Ally DMV-500 systems in the patrol cars to the station's server. The systems are fully integrated into replacement rearview mirrors and ensure that the video evidence remains untainted during the transfer.

"The citizen complaint rate has dropped significantly since we installed the wireless network and cameras," according to Capt. Criss Hudson. "Improving the validity of the evidence videos has strengthened the CPD cases, resulting in additional criminal prosecutions."

Each police stop is recorded and sent wirelessly, which saves staff time and ensures compliance with court evidence requirements. The systems are easy to equip and are compatible with many wireless infrastructure solutions, said Ken McCoy, Digital Ally's vice president of sales and marketing.
