The gunman walked into Forza, past the officers and up to the counter as if he was going to place an order. He opened up his coat. The barista turned and ran.

Sheriff's Spokesman Says No Specific Threats Were Made Against Lakewood Police
The gunman walked into the coffee shop and shot two of the Lakewood officers as they sat down. The other two officers stood up. One officer was killed. The fourth officer fought the gunman and may have injured him. The officer was able to fire his weapon said Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Lakewood PD Identifies Four Officers In Coffeehouse Shooting
Sgt. Mark Renninger and three other patrol officers were killed by the gunman. One officer reached the shop's doorway and returned fire, wounding the assailant.
