Michigan State Police To Test 2010 Patrol Vehicles
The Michigan State Police's driving unit will evaluate the 2010 models of patrol cars, motorcycles and SUVs later this month and post the performance results on its website in early October, according to the unit's Lt. Keith Wilson.

Based on the Ulysses adventure sportbike from Harley-Davidson subsidiary Buell, the Ulysses Police features long-travel suspension, generous ground clearance, and aggressive tires that allow it to tackle roads too rough or narrow for confident travel in a car or on a traditional police motorcycle.

Harley-Davidson launched an all-new Big Twin powertrain for the 2007 FLHTP Electra-Glide and FLHP Road King law enforcement motorcycles when the Twin Cam 103 Police engine and 6-speed Cruise Drive were introduced. This new engine, which is only available on law enforcement models, comes standard with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI).

Harley-Davidson has added a new model to its line of Peace Officer Special Edition motorcycles. The company’s popular Heritage Softail model is now available in black with silver accents. New features on the Peace Officer Special Heritage Softail and Electra Glide include an easier to use clutch system and an improved brake system that uses Dot 4 fluid for better brake feel. The Peace Officer Special Edition motorcycles are only sold to law enforcement officers for use as their private vehicles.
