A Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff's deputy was fatally shot early Sunday after a burglary suspect opened fire at him at an Anthem medical plaza. The deputy was wearing body armor, but was shot by rifle fire.

Officer Robert Livsey was at home waiting for an HVAC repairman. The officer was planning to move into the home next month with his fiancee, Kimberly Taylor. Apparently, the burglar entered through a window around 8:45 a.m.

Showering Burglar Calls 911 On Homeowner
Timothy James Chapek, 24, was caught at about 7:07 p.m. Monday by the homeowner and his two German Shepherds. After the homeowner asked Chapek what he was doing in the home, Chapek locked himself in the bathroom and called 911.

St. Louis Officer Disarmed, Shot With Own Gun
The officer arrived at the 5200 block of St. Louis Avenue at about 1 a.m. Tuesday to find a man who had been stabbed. The officer entered the home and chased the suspect, who was able to wrestle the officer's gun away from him and fire one shot at him.

Repeat Burglar Caught After Leaving Charging Cell Phone In Home
When the owner's son returned on Friday, 25-year-old Cody Wilkins apparently fled the house, leaving behind his phone. Investigators have since charged Wilkins in other burglaries.

Detroit Officer Shoots Burglar During Scuffle In Beauty Store's Dark Basement
The officers responded to Amy's Wig & Beauty Supply in the 13500 block of West 6 Mile at about 5:30 this morning after getting a 911 call. While the officer was inside the basement, the suspect lunged at him and attempted to grab his gun.

Deputy Brent Bible confronted Christopher Gries, 30, while he peered into a vehicle. Gries then returned to his still-running Cadillac Escalade and steered it toward the deputy.
