During a SWAT raid of a Holiday Inn, Tucson police recovered 2,000 pounds of marijuana and various weapons as they arrested five suspects, including two who hid in the ceiling as officers entered the property.

A U.S. district judge sentenced the Colombian drug kingpin and former FBI top ten fugitive Diego Montoya Sanchez to a 45-year prison term. Montoya Sanchez, whose alias was "Don Diego," had entered a guilty plea to murder and cocaine trafficking.

Rigoberto Valle testified recently in San Francisco court that he was told that he must sell crack or face death by gun or knife. The jury didn't buy the Honduran immigrant's "sell crack or die" defense, convicting him. Soon he'll be sentenced, and probably deported.

Florida Officers May Have Compromised Arrest by Playing Wii Bowling During Raid
As investigators searched the home for drugs, some drug task force members found other ways to occupy their time. Within 20 minutes of entering Difalco's house, some of the investigators found a Wii video bowling game and began bowling frame after frame.

Narcotics agents said Tuesday they had little doubt that the nearly 90,000-acre La Brea fire in California was started by Mexican drug traffickers who were tending a large, sophisticated marijuana farm planted on the side of a mountain in the Los Padres National Forest.
