Tucson-area Border Patrol agents seized more than 4,700 pounds of marijuana valued at about $2.3 million earlier this week from three vehicles, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The Ventura County (Calif.) Sheriff's Office has eradicated a massive outdoor grow operation. Investigators also discovered several campsites with several hundred pounds of equipment including tents, propane stoves, sleeping bags, fertilizers, pesticides, and an enormous amount of trash.

N.J.'s Drug Testing for Officers Expected to Curb Steroid Use
Under a plan introduced by the state's attorney general, anabolic steroids and human growth hormone have been added to the list of substances subject to testing. Local departments must fund the tests, meaning they can decide when to carry them out, and even whether or not to do them.

Warrantless entries are limited to those authorized by consent, probation or parole search conditions, or "exigent circumstances" involving some sort of emergency requiring immediate action. One category of exigency that may justify warrantless entry is the need to prevent the imminent destruction of evidence.

Mexico Captures Zetas Founder Wanted In ICE Agent's Killing
Mexican authorities have captured Jesus Regon Aguilar, one of the three founding members of the Los Zetas drug cartel and a suspect in the killing of a U.S. immigration enforcement agent earlier this year. Jesus Rejon Aguilar, who goes by the alias "El Mamito" (Pretty Boy), was taken into custody on Sunday near Mexico City without a shot being fired.
