SHOT Show 2011: Colt Debuts Modular LE901 Carbine
The rifle can be deployed in 7.62mm/.308 with either a 13- or 16-inch barrel. For closer quarters engagements at 5.56mm/.223, officers can swap out the upper receiver and, with an internal adapter that bolts to the upper, deploy the rifle with a 10.3-, 14.5- or 16-inch barrel.

The Best Way to Zero a Rifle
Sighting in on a target at 25 yards is much easier than attempting to sight in at a greater distance. Once sighted in at 25 yards, it will be easy to find your shots at 100 yards or greater and make the correct adjustments.

State Agencies Select Smith & Wesson M&P Rifles
Smith & Wesson has announced that the Nevada Department of Public Safety (DPS) has chosen to equip its officers with 500 M&P15X tactical rifles. Nevada DPS joins a number of law enforcement agencies that have converted to Smith & Wesson tactical rifles, including the Nebraska State Patrol, which also recently selected duty rifles the M&P Series.

SIG Sauer To Offer 556 Carbine In 7.62x39
The 7.62x39 was not developed for sniper work. Longer cartridges such as the Soviet 7.62x54 were developed for precision work and mimic our 30.06 and .308. The 7.62x39 is a relatively short cartridge case, but packs an effective punch.
