NIJ Opens Body Armor Grant Period, Requires Mandatory Wear Policy
In addition to implementing mandatory wear for the 2011 Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) grant, the NIJ also extended the application deadline to 53 from 30 days. The BVP application period closes July 7.

As patrol officers know all too well, drivers they pull over may not give them a truthful answer about their identity, especially if a bench warrant has been issued. Obtaining a photo can help get positive identification.
