Task Force Charges 26 In New Haven Cocaine Ring
A multi-agency task force arrested 15 people suspected of running a cocaine ring in New Haven, Conn., area. A federal grand jury returned a superseding indictment charging 26 individuals with narcotics trafficking offenses.

Connecticut Officer Falls Through Skylight
Police said officers initially responded to a burglary at a home before 1 a.m. this morning. Three suspects were discovered at that location, attempting to steal copper materials from a vacant home, police said. One suspect was apprehended, while two other suspects fled and officers began a chase on foot, police said.

Connecticut Officer Struck on Traffic Duty 'Loved Being a Cop'
Smith, 64, died today as a result of internal injuries sustained on the Fourth of July. While standing beside his cruiser after conducting traffic at a private fireworks event, Smith was struck by a Nissan Frontier.
