Georgia Officer Critically Injured in Crash

The State Patrol said the car “was negotiating a curve and left the west side of the roadway,” and then struck a power pole, damaging its front.

A Douglasville, Georgia, police officer was seriously injured in a crash Monday, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

GSP said the Douglasville police officer was traveling south on SR 61 in a marked patrol vehicle when the crash happened, Atlanta News First reports.

The State Patrol said the car “was negotiating a curve and left the west side of the roadway,” and then struck a power pole, damaging its front.

GSP said the officer was extracted from the vehicle and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
