Peoria (Ill.) Police officer Andrew Smith was acquitted of misconduct charges stemming from this arrest of convicted drug dealer Bryce Scott, who had fled from the officer. Two other officers face charges stemming from the March 3, 2008 traffic stop.

California Officer Kicks Gang Member During Arrest
After a long vehicle pursuit on May 13, 2009, El Monte (Calif.) officers George Fierro and James Singleterry arrest Richard Rodriguez, a member of the El Monte Flores gang. During the arrest, Fierro kicks Rodriguez in the head. The officers have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Omaha Pursuit Leads to Gunfight
Omaha (Neb.) police follow a robbery suspect who fires on officers during the pursuit as well as during a shootout at the end, where one cruiser ends up in a precarious position. Officer Matt Rech, whose patrol car video captured much of the chase, is heard calmly relaying information during the Nov. 29, 2006 pursuit. The agency named Rech as an officer of the year for 2007.
