FirstNet has announced that first responders can now sign up for FirstNet cellular service at more than 5,300 AT&T retail stores. Verified first responders, including volunteers, can sign up for FirstNet service under a personal account.

In addition three agencies have implemented agencywide FirstNet solutions.

* Fresno County, CA, implemented a technology upgrade with FirstNet, allowing sheriff's deputies to access the first responder network.

* Orem, UT, is giving the city’s officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel a technology upgrade with FirstNet that will help first responders stay connected to critical information and help ensure seamless communication during emergencies or big events like this week’s SummerFest.

* Oglala Sioux Police Department of Pine Ridge, SD, is the first tribal community to implement FirstNet. Previous communication systems provided limited connectivity, which hindered patrolling officers in executing their duties. Now with FirstNet, Oglala police are better equipped to focus on their jobs and the community’s needs, FirstNet says.
