Officers have seen claims about lightweight, flexible, more comfortable body armor come and go, so they have a right to be skeptical about such claims. But Point Blank’s new Alpha Elite Series armor may end such skepticism.

Developed by Point Blank and ballistic fiber manufacturer DSM Dyneema, the Alpha Elite Series boast NIJ06 compliance but extremely light and thin ballistic panels. The Dyneema Force Multiplier material helped Point Blank create Level IIIA protective plates that weigh only .87 pounds per square foot and are only .20 inches thick.

Point Blank has tested its Alpha Elite model AXIIIA with rounds exceeding 2,000 feet per second. The armor will be available in Point Blank concealed configurations and in Paraclete tactical models.
