The city commission of Amarillo, Texas, has voted to purchase in-car video recording systems from L3 Mobile Vision Inc. for $50,502.

The police department is equipping a total of 10 vehicles with the cameras, according to the Amarillo Globe News.

The new recording systems will replace existing units in selected vehicles, including new patrol cars. The current bid price reflects a 5.26% decrease from the previous purchase in 2009, according to city documents.
